I listed this box set as "good" because of the condition of the box itself: Handles and locks are rusty and will break if not handled with care. There are also peeled off parts of the box (please see photos). Also, 16 of the 17 opened CD/booklets have a few extra pages in Japanese which were added with a sellotape. If you remove the tape then it will leave a mark on the booklet.
Those extra pages are from Philips itself so you can just consider them to be a fourth language on the top of English, German and French. I opened a 17th cd/book to check it and it doesn't have the pages in Japanese so only the open CD/books have them.BUT 33 OF THE 50 CDS/BOOKLETS STILL REMAIN IN THEIR FACTORY SEALED WRAPPING SO THEY ARE ACTUALLY NEW. As a matter of fact, I will wait a week and if nobody shows interest in this set then I will sell the cd/books individually. The savagery of streaming has reduced the interest in physical cds and also in the manufacture of box sets such as this one. There will never be another box set like this one. While digital streaming has made classical music widely accessible, the.
Box set contains rare, licensed, and out-of-print recordings from various historic labels (like Decca, DG, and Philips) that are not uniformly available on modern streaming platforms. I didn't even listen to all cds!
