Haydn'Complete Symphonies' Antal Dorarti, DECCA 32 CD Boxset. West Germany

A complete, first issue collector's copy of all 104 numbered symphonies, conducted by Antal Doráti with the Philharmonia Hungarica, originally recorded between 1969 and 1972 on the Decca (London) label. This is the 1991 "Fatbox" edition, highly prized for its strong packaging and its acclaimed mastering. This set is 100% completed with all 32 CDs, one for each fatbox, and with eight booklets, again one for each fatbox. This is a historical pressing with some discs "Made in W Germany" and others "Made in Germany" due to the reunification of Germany that was taking place when it was produced. As a further provenance note, Volume 6 (60-71) features the original factory mismatched spine (no colour bar on one of the two CD sleeves).

This is a hallmark of the very first 1991 production run. In terms of condition, all 8 jewel cases are in excellent condition as are the discs and leaflets. The outer cardboard slipcase shows sign of shelfwear appropriate to an item of this age, and minor creases to two corners - the top left above Volume 1, and the bottom left below Volume 1 close to the barcode.

These can be seen in the final two photographs. Overall the set is in very good condition, with the discs and jewel cases themselves in excellent condition. This beautiful CD Box Set will be substantially bubble-wrapped for protection from transit and moisture before dispatch.
